- Fundraising ideas
- Letter to go to former donors and BEBA
families?
- Other letter for board members?
- Myrna to help Sandra compose? What are
we asking for?
- Foundation Money available to BEBA
- Carol Landsberg, a Castellino trainee,
SBGI student and personally a regular donor to BEBA has a family
Foundation. They give grants up to $10,000 for specific one-time
projects. She said the projects don't have to be glamorousÑthey funded a
septic tank. The application due date is August. She wants to support
BEBA. Sandra could write the grant.
- Sandra asked her if they would consider
funding for DVD backup of tapes or creating a filemaker database. She
said that either would be fine. They won't fund an executive director or
any other ongoing general expenses.
- Sandra suggests that we ask for $10,000
for backing up BEBA tapes.
- Most funding agencies and donors are not
as interested in the research aspect of BEBA so this would be a great
opportunity to get money focused on that so other donations could go to
more direct family support.
- A question would be: do we back up all
tapes or only those we may potentially show publicly or for
trainings/educational purposes. And do we back up tapes originally done
on High-8, lower quality? Who decides Ð Ray? The DVDs cost $5 apiece so
$10,000 is only 2000 tapes if all the money were to be spent on materials
or less tapes if some is spent on labor. Sandra figures about $5/tape for
labor to copy and organize them unless we can find volunteers.
- Would board approve of Sandra (with
support as needed from Myrna) applying for a grant of $10,000 to back up
the tapes with Ray deciding after input from BEBA staff which tapes and
what portion is materials and what labor?
- Summer potluck(s) in a park? Ð who to
organize? When? Any structure?
- BEBA board
meetings: ? (soon with
new members), Thursday, Sept 25th when Myrna returns.
